BIO / clients
Leah is a British-Indian multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in textile design, styling, and lecturing. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Textile Design, specialising in woven textiles and print. Leah’s training focused on weaving and printing using jacquard and dobby loom methods, reflecting her cultural heritage and identity. Drawing inspiration from traditional styles originating in Goa and Mumbai, she blends these techniques with contemporary design and technologies.
Since 2006, Leah has worked as a freelance editorial and commercial stylist. Her experience spans various areas of the industry, including editorial projects, London Fashion Week (LFW), and film. She has styled for clients such as Vogue UK, Vogue Italia, Katharine Hamnett, and Calvin Klein.
Leah’s styling practice is deeply connected to her textile background, where texture, material, and craft are central to her creative process. This foundation allows her to approach styling as a layered narrative, weaving meaning and emotion into each composition, with references to the diaspora, cross-cultural exchange, and ancestral legacy.
As a fashion textiles and styling lecturer, Leah has taught modules in fashion textiles and styling pathways at London College of Communication (UAL), including the MA Photography course, City of Westminster College, and UAC. Her teaching includes workshops on weaving techniques and small-scale production methods, exploring plain weave, twill, and tapestry.
